Pair Starkey Hearing Aids on Android

How to Pair Starkey Hearing Aids to an Android Cellphone – Soundwave Hearing Care

In this video, I’m going to show you how to connect your Starkey hearing aids to an Android cell phone. The first thing you’re going to do is have your Thrive app downloaded. You’re going to click on the app; it says we’re going to connect hearing aids.

We’ll hit ok.

Now, in order to connect your hearing aids, you have to put them in pairing mode. So, if you have a standard battery hearing aid, you will need to open and close your battery doors and put them into pairing mode. If you have a rechargeable hearing aid, you’ll simply put it on the charger until you see a flashing light, and then remove it from the charger.

The hearing aids I’m using today are rechargeable, so I’m going to remove them from the charger and hit rescan. There’s one hearing aid and there’s a second. I’m going to click both until I see the green check mark and hit “Connect”.

There’s one pairing request (we will hit “Pair”), and another pairing request. This can take a bit of time, so be patient with the system.

And it looks like the connection has failed, so we’re just going to reconnect but don’t worry, it’s a good learning opportunity. We’ll work through this together. We’re going to reselect my hearing aids, we’re going to allow and, congratulations, my hearing aids are connected!!!

So, I will hit “Skip Overview” and we are back in the app. For the most part, you would have received a tutorial on how to use the app. If you do have any questions or concerns you’re welcome to book an appointment and we would be happy to help you.

But now, just to make sure that the hearing aids are also connected to the phone itself, which would allow for the streaming of phone calls or any audio to come through the hearing aids, we’re going to go to “Settings Connections” and “Bluetooth” and, as you can see, my hearing aids are connected there as indicated by Victoria’s hearing aids.

For this video, I’m going to show you how to connect your Starkey hearing aids to an Android cell phone.

First, open your Thrive app and tap “Connect Hearing Aids” → OK.

To enter pairing mode: for rechargeable hearing aids, place them on the charger until the light flashes, then remove. For standard battery models, open and close the battery doors.

In the app, hit “Rescan”. When your devices appear, select each one until both green checkmarks appear, then hit “Connect.”

Allow any pairing prompts. If it fails, simply repeat the steps—it’s normal.

Once paired, skip the tutorial and go to Settings → Connections → Bluetooth on your phone to confirm your hearing aids are listed. That means the pairing was successful.
