How to Change a Hearing Aid Battery – Soundwave Hearing Care

For this video, we’re going to show you how to change a battery in a hearing aid.

Now there are four different sizes of batteries for hearing aids and they are universal so anywhere you go you should be able to find the correct battery size for your device.

So the first one here is a size 10 or yellow in color it is the smallest hearing aid battery on the market. The next size up is a size 312 or brown in color and then we go to a size 13 which is orange and 675 which is blue and as you can see a much larger hearing aid.

The smaller the hearing aid the more likely you are to be on the left side and as we get into more power levels you’ll most likely be on towards the right side.

So for this particular hearing aid it takes a size 312 or brown battery.

So what you’re going to do is you’re going to take a battery out of the case or package and what you may see is that there is a sticker in the corresponding battery color.

Since this is a size 312 we know it will be brown what you’re going to do is you need to remove that sticker from the hearing aid.

There are little holes in the bottom which allow air to go inside the battery. You’re then going to just let it breathe for a moment or two and take your hearing aid.

Now depending on your hearing aid there typically is a little bit of a lip or ridge on the bottom of the hearing aid. To open it you’re going to pull on the ridge and your hearing aid battery door is now open.

On this particular hearing aid the battery door is kind of like a cup on one side it’s relatively open, and on the other side it is more closed.

To put the battery into the hearing aid you’re going to put the flat side facing up in the cup so on this side it’s a flat backside and then there is a rounded side which you may be able to see there.

You’re going to put the flat side facing up in the cup and if you see we can close it with little to no resistance. Now the hearing aid will power on if you have the battery in incorrectly you’re more likely to feel resistance – don’t force it check the battery placement and try again.
