Audiologists
When compared to other roles in hearing health care, audiologists are typically backed by the most education. Audiologists usually have either a masters or doctorate in the field of audiology for a total of 6 to 9 years of education. Audiologists are licensed and trained to offer:
- Comprehensive audiological evaluations – how you hear and listen from the ear to the brain
- Hearing care for all ages, from infants to seniors
- Balance/dizziness disorder testing
- Design, selection, and fitting of listening devices
- Rehabilitation therapy for hearing disorders
- And much more
Hearing aid practitioners
In Alberta, hearing aid practitioners have a two year college diploma and are Board Certified. Hearing aid practitioners are licensed and trained to offer:
- Comprehensive audiological evaluations – how you hear and listen from the ear to the brain
- Hearing care for all all adults, ages 18 and above
- Design, selection, and fitting of listening devices
- Rehabilitation therapy for hearing loss
