In the Ear

If you have severe hearing loss, opt for low-profile ITE hearing aids or BTE hearing aids with earmolds. You may also benefit from utilizing assistive listening devices (ALDs), such as remote microphone technologies like digitally-modulated (DM) systems. Behind-the-ear hearing aids

Behind the ear (BTE) hearing aids are an easy to use and adaptable style of hearing aid that works with any level of hearing loss. It is often recommended for children and those with more significant hearing losses because of its durability, options for more power, and automatically adjusting features. BTE hearing aids are available with either rechargeable or changeable battery options, depending on each user’s preference. The electronics of the BTE hearing aid are housed in a sleek casing that sits behind the ear. The sound is amplified and then transmitted through a discrete plastic tube to a comfortable custom ear mold in the ear.
