Soundwave Hearing Care Celebrates Award-Winning Audiologist
Soundwave Hearing Care is proud to announce that one of our team members, Tracy Smith, is the recipient of the 2023 Jean Kienapple Award for Clinical Excellence. This prestigious recognition is awarded by the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA) “to recognize clinicians who deliver outstanding clinical services on an ongoing basis, as recognized by peers and clients.”
A national standard-bearer for audiology
Founded in 1996 and incorporated in 1988, the CAA is a professional organization committed to advocacy, education and research in audiology. It states that its mission is to enhance the profile of audiologists as primary hearing healthcare providers. Among the national organization’s many areas of service are:
- Articulating and upholding ethical standards
- Advocacy on audiology-related issues
- Supporting professional development and research efforts
- Dissemination of educational resources
The earliest presentation of the Jean Kienapple Award for Clinical Excellence took place in 2001. What makes this award especially meaningful is that nominations are accepted, not only from professionals but also from patients. This accolade is a true testament to the human-first approach to patient care that characterizes Tracy’s work.
